A side return and rear extension to a Victorian terraced house in Twickenham
A side return extension with glass roof and rear extension with pitched roof and full width folding sliding doors. Removing supporting walls, chimneys and crossing drains meant a total of 15 steel beams were needed and the clients were very pleased when we could include these seamlessly into the design and achieve flush ceilings and walls throughout.
To convert the traditional Victorian layout of small galley kitchen and dark dining room to an open plan kitchen/dining/living space that the family can use together, and to let in as much natural light as possible.
The kitchen was to be placed in the original dining room space, we worked with our glazing company to design a unique glass roof with valley that angled the light into this area. Wet under floor heating throughout the new extension ensured lots of usable wall space not used up with radiators!
